Every Birth is Different... Get the Support you need

A doula's role cares for the emotional & physical needs of a birthing woman. I encourage a mother's confidence in herself, allowing her to find her own way through labour & birth, empowered with knowledge to make the choices that are right for her & her baby

So... Why
Have A Doula?

Get Emotional Support

Everyone approaches pregnancy & birth in different ways. We all have our concerns & dreams when it comes to bringing our baby into the world. Our public & private health system lacks the time & ability to be on call for you personally. I would love to help you overcome your fears & plan for your perfect birth (caesarean or vaginal)

Have all the Information

The world of information can be overwhelming. Often we are asked to make decisions in the midst of labour. With my support I can help you understand what may happen & create a birth plan with multiple alternatives. I also interpret medical terms, provide evidenced based research for you to make decisions & open up awareness of your options.

Get Practical Support

At the end of the day who does’t need an extra set of hands? I come to you & dad for all  visits. I’m on call for your birth, helping you labour at home & at hospital. You have access to my wide range of labouring & pain relief tools. Both during Caesarean & vaginal birth I’ll be there post, pre and during birth for any practical,  physical support for you and your partner.

Are You Birth Ready?
Let's do it together

What Is The
Doula Process?

Every person is different and what I do for each of my birthing mothers is customised to what they need and want from me. But to give you an overall idea of the process and how simple it is…

We book in a obligation free chat. Having someone at your birth is super personal… so we see if i’m a good match for you. I want you to have the best birth experience and feel comfortable with me on your support team. So feel free to interview me, ask me anything and let’s see if i’m the right fit for you and your family.

Bump, Birth & Baby: I come to you & dad and now it’s my turn to ask you what you want for your birth. We cover, what you envision & any concerns you have. I explain basic procedures and what to expect. We create a birth plan together and equip you with any additional information you need to feel in control and empowered for this special event.

Caesarean Birth & Baby: If you have chosen this package, our first point of call will be to meet & get to know one another & also what to expect in your pregnancy & birth.I come to you while we start working on your birth plan & understanding how we can make the birth of your child a unique & wonderful experience.

Bump, Birth & Baby: In your third trimester we meet again with your partner and cover any updates to your birth plan while we discover the role of your partner and how they can support you. You’ll learn what you can expect from me and  I’ll identify any special requests you have. We also practice pain relief strategies and visualisation techniques. Really it’s about what you & dad really need on the day. If you go over your due date, we often meet again to discuss and revisit your plans & thoughts.

Caesarean Birth & Baby: If you have chosen this package, we will organise your private “Positive Caesarean” Course, outsourced from a Hynopbirthing educator. They will come to you & cover practises, birth preferences, ‘Gentle’ Caesarean, Bonding & Breastfeeding as well as recovery. Plus so much more…

Today is the day we have been waiting for! In the prep stage you will know when to call me & what to expect so once I have got the call I will be there to support you through this beautiful birthing process. Guiding, directing and supporting you with any decisions or changes that need to be made last minute. I simply offer you educated choices at each stage so you have the information to choose the birth that suits you. It’s a delicate balance of knowing when to encourage & when to help you with alternatives. But whatever you decide, I’m there with you… your not alone.

Caesarean Birth & Baby: With an elective caesarean birth we know the date of your birth ahead of time. I meet you at the hospital & we go through all the preparation stages together. If I can be with you during the procedure (hospital policy & your preference) then I will be, either taking photos or talking you through each step. Otherwise, I am waiting with anyone else (family), answering any questions they may have, with your permission of course. I make sure your suite in the maternity ward is ready for you & we begin bonding & feeding baby. I stay with you as long as you need my help & support.

I follow up with you after the birth and cathartically debrief about the day. We celebrate the wins and download the emotions together. I find out what you need and what support you require moving forward. Need a break, a sleep, a meal? I’m here to care for you, so you can care for baby.

Throughout your pregnancy and beyond, I’m your birthing buddy, so if you need a phone call, questions answered, a book to borrow, birthing equipment I am available to support you in any way I can. Think of my like your birthing personal trainer!

A positive Birth is just a click away

This is Me... Jade

My passion for pregnancy and birth began from an early age. I couldn’t wait to give birth myself. While supporting my sister in the birth of her baby girl I caught a glimpse of how hospital policy and changing staff can really disrupt a birthing woman. It was there I saw the need for continuous emotional, practical and informational support during my own birthing journey.

While pregnant I enjoyed one on one support, childbirth education classes & was completely informed on my choices. I was able to birth my boys safely and completely on my own steam. From this point forward it became my mission to help other women to be informed, empowered and supported in the the way they choose to have their baby or babies!

My favourite part about this work is building special relationships with women and couples as well as being constantly inspired by their strength in birth while advocating for themselves.

I trained through the Australian Doula College and am currently working on providing my own childbirth education course. In the meantime I would love to support you on your transition from maiden to mother. In my service with couples I truly value practical assistance, encouraging partners to be an integral part of support in birth and making sure parents are prepared for all the ups and downs of having a baby.

I can’t wait to start this journey with you!
